But he instead backed out of the room into the hall stumbling eratically, peeking into other rooms, his mind having fully broken by the time the goblins caught up to him. I thought he might collapse in bed from depression/exhaustion, and he might have survived. Perhaps they had hidden beneath the pile of clothes on the floor? But alas. He stumbled obliviously to the bedroom he shared with his wife and two kids. He then made a beeline to the dorms, now splattered in the blood of the short-beards. He went to the tavern, for a drink, I thought, and saw his friends slaughtered. Harried, dehydrated, and tired, Fisher made his way back to the fortress. He evaded as best he could but he was cornered in a mine shaft and they surrounded him: just as a corpse exploded in miasma! Apparently their delicate nostrils were not accustomed.to such things, and he managed to make a break for it, scrambling up 40z levels before they came to their senses. 4 gobbos got lost in the bowels and caught his scent as he tried to ascend. As long as Fisher could stay hidden, then feed/release Mayor, I'd basically get a fresh start!īut alas. I thought I could actually make it, my legendary Miner, the Mayor, was safely in jail on a 60 day bit, and one fisherdwarf had fled to the level 3 caverns. After hunting down the last of our children in the dorms, the goblins started to leave. but I failed to notice a hole I had dug right next the damned bridge. To the credit of labormanager, I even managed to rebuild the destroyed lever and link it to the bridge 80-some z-levels away before the gobbos crossed my tiny 4x4 map something I had not thought possible. Though the ~40 extra would soon be assigned, they would never be filled. The catacombs contained 200 coffins by the end, 2/3rds by his hand. This particular dwarf had new found appreciation for hard work and dedication: after watching his wife's body decompose years earlier. I love that their opinions change now, and how it toes them back to a lofe event. However, I think it also increased tantrums as it reduced downtime.Īt the high point I checked in on my master Mason. But, it did an excellent job of getting all my orders executed and I was able to right the ship. You can tweak it a lot, but I would go with auto-haul next time as it leaves primary assignments alone, and just manages hauling jobs to not interfere with them. (I think it will interrupt hauling, however). It will seem to prefer skill, but it won't interrupt them. So in addition to obliterating any carefully curated labor assignments, it will result in silly things like sending your legendary mason out chopping trees, then tasking some random schlub to go make stone doors if the order comes in while he's busy. It looks on idle dwarves with absolute contempt and automatically assigns labors regardless of qualification to any job that needs doing. So DwarfHack labormanager is pretty amazing, but I would advise caution.
